During my Junior year at Temple University's School of Sport, Tourism, and Hospitality Management, I had the privilege of learning more about the industry through first-hand experience. For 15 weeks, I worked with Temple's Strategic University Events team, which is the main group in charge of executing on-campus academic events.
Some of the events that I was involved with include President John Fry's Investiture, various academic dinners or celebrations, and the 138th Commencement. Each event highlighted different skills that I had to learn and adapt in order to properly execute the event.
Outside of STHM, I also found ways to be involved in the Temple Community through student organizations such as the Event Planning Association, Alpha Epsilon Phi, and Eta Sigma Delta. For each of these organizations, I have been an active member and held an E-Board position. Each organization has allowed me not only to polish skills that translate to the workplace but also to learn more about myself as a leader and team player.
During my time in the Event Planning Association, I served as a Liaison, focusing on understanding the organization's inner workings. Afterward, I took on the role of Director of Marketing, overseeing the organization’s social media presence. Finally, I ended my run as the Treasurer, where I kept track of all monetary transactions. In Alpha Epsilon Phi, I started as the Formal chair, planning our semesterly formal party to celebrate the organization's success. During this time, I was also a New Member Assistant, supporting the New Member Educator as we welcomed a new class of sisters into our organization. Afterward, I took on the role of New Member Educator, where I supported over 45 girls through the transition process of learning about our organization’s values and roots. Finally, during my time in Eta Sigma Delta, I served as President, overseeing all members of the E-Board.

During my Senior year at Temple University, I decided to try my hand at a new branch of the live entertainment industry: sports. By pursuing this endeavor, I not only took a step outside of my comfort zone, but I also applied the skills that I have learned from my classes and was able to apply them with my experience in the internship.
Some highlights of my time during the internship include providing support during events at the Lincoln Financial Field, which included the Mummers Spring Band Spectacular. Not only was I able to work behind the scenes in a large venue, but I was also able to see the inner workings of how a large company is able to ensure that large-scale events are run successfully and safely.
